Things to Do Around Katherine

Tours & Attractions

Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine Gorge). Not one, but 13 magnificant gorges with options for all levels of fitness to enjoy.  Nitmiluk experiences include boat cruises, canoe hire, light plane and helicopter flights and trekking.

Cutta Cutta Caves. Take one of the daily guided tours and view the Northern Territory's only limestone caves offering public access. Cutta Cutta is home to a variety of wildlife species, and is a beautiful place to spend time.

Katherine Museum. View the colourful history of the Katherine Region in this Museum, just a 300 metre stroll from the Resort.

Top Didj Cultural Experience & Art Gallery. A truly unique Indigenous cultural experience lead by artists from the Katherine & Red Centre regions of the Northern Territory.

Marksie's Stockmans Camp Tucker Night. Dine under the stars around the campfire in the grounds of the Katherine Museum and be entertained with great Aussie humour.  This is a great meal and fun night to remember in the Australian Outback.

Places to Visit in Katherine

The Katherine River. A two minute stroll from the Resort, the River flows from the world renowned Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park.

Katherine Low Level Reserve. A great place for swimming and fishing.  The Reserve is a popular picnic area, with barbecues and tables available.

Katherine Hot Springs. A refreshing plunge into the natural crystal-thermal waters is highly recommended.

Springvale Homestead. Katherine's oldest original homestead, Springvale overlooks the River and offers a rich history and shaded gardens, making it a perfect location for travellers to visit.

Just a Short Drive Away

Mataranka. Famous for its thermal pools, Mataranka has much to offer the day-tripper.  Just 104km south of Katherine you will find the Elsey National Park, Bitter Springs, botanic walks, termite mounds, the Never Never Museum and still more great canoeing.

Edith Falls. Try swimming and snorkelling in the plunge pools around Edith Falls.  The area has a series of spring fed waterfalls and pools to explore.
