Knotts Crossing Resort is getting involved in supporting the Leukaemia Foundation by trying to raise money in our bar and help the

foundation support local people with blood cancer.  Every hour someone in Australia is diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma.  Every two hours someone dies from one of these blood cancers.

Our bartenders are some of the best looking bunch in Australia – and with big hearts.  Here’s your chance to prove it by showing us the Understanding, Generous, Likeable You.

Knotts Crossing Resort got involved in Katherine’s Try A Trade at the Katherine Training Centre, yesterday, Tuesday 23 August 2011.

Jasper Peri-Stuart, our Bar Manager, showed over 200 students how to make Mocktails.

The 2 Mocktails were a Shakers Dream and a Mock Pina Colado.  Mixes of pineapple juice; coconut cream; cranberry juice; ice and more. 

Management who attended got to taste these delicious mixes and were  not disapointed!!  Over 50 students came back to the last session when they were given the opportunity to choose any trade they liked.

Hospitality Industry impressed!!!  Well done Jasper!!!!!!

Knotts Crossing Resort were finalists at the Telstra Business Awards on Friday 15 July 2011.  Joanna Pace & Katrin Ladurner attended the Black Tie Awards night held at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and were very proud finalists.  Congratulations to Area9 IT Solutions who won the award.

When the Pace and Forster families took over Knotts Crossing Resort in Katherine in 2009, they immediately saw opportunities to build revenue by boosting wet season occupancy rates between November and April, selling more tours and updating the resort’s web site. The 3.5-star resort offers motel, caravan and camping accommodation as a base for tourists to explore the region’s rich environment and experience indigenous culture. By creating competitive accommodation and meal packages for contractors, the business has landed new commercial clients, lifting wet season occupancy from 44 to 66 per cent. Managers Joanna Pace and Bronwyn Forster and their team produced a new web site to make bookings easier and increased the resort’s online presence via travel sites and Facebook. They coached staff to be more pro-active in promoting tours, which increased commissioned ticket sales by 74 per cent last financial year. Overall, resort revenue has grown 20 per cent since 2009.

KATHERINE & THE CYCLONE

The Top End of the NT has been on Cyclone alert over the last couple of days.  Guests and staff at Knotts Crossing Resort have been inundated with questions regarding road closures, airport closures and whether they can travel to Darwin.   The resort has had cancellations due to the weather conditions, as well as guests staying over because they cannot get up to Darwin.

Katherine has not been affected directly by the cyclone however we have had to increase awareness to our staff our Evacuation Plans and what to do in an emergency.  NT Night Sky
